Here floating within the darkest moment, showcases an imaginary portrait of an artist, as freedom he can be as before. Still hanging strong, while facing terrible mental stress, physical damages and depression that some species had caused without hesitation.
This monotonous piece of work was crafted in the midst of hatred.

mic KEY

This political icon, Mickey mouse had a very long history behind him. Created by the Americans back in the 1928. Where Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, was the first "Mickey" created by Ub Iwerks and Walt Disney in the 1920s and 1930s.

Photobucket

In 1930, The German Board of Film Censors prohibited showing a Mickey Mouse film because they felt the kepi-wearing mouse negatively portrayed the Germans and would "reawaken the latest anti-German feeling existing abroad since the War". A mid 1930s German newspaper article even stated :

"Mickey Mouse is the most miserable ideal ever revealed...Healthy emotions tell every independent young man and every honorable youth that the dirty and filfth-covered vermin, the greatest bacteria carrier in the animal kingdom, cannot be the ideal type of animal...Away with Jewish brutalization of the people! Down with Mickey Mouse! Wear the Swastika Cross!"

Art Spiegelman used this quote on the opening page of the second volume of his comic Maus II.

This anthropomorphic mouse has evolved from being simply a character in animated cartoons and comic strips to become one of the most recognizable symbols in the world.

Not surprised. For myself, I'm not a 'very' Mickey Mouse fan but I like it's aesthetics and it's simplicity over the complexity thingy. Confused? okays, Mickey looks simple yet complex. Got what i meant? Anyways.. I've found 2 collectables on 18Nov (Walt Disney's Birth), while I'm searching for a place to dine in early in the morning at "PO MO" (paradiz centre) with ben.

Here's the 2 collectables I've got for my Birthday this year.

Happy Birthday to myself! Poor me, this month isnt a smooth month for me though. Assessments, missed lots of gatherings and lastly, my immune system dropped to zero due to stress and got Shingles. Which made me having the difficulty to Sleep, to shower, to concentrate and etc.

At least its recovering! I've been staying awake for almost 48 hours last 2 days just because of the project submissions yesterday. I'm worn out but it's worth it though. Here's my set up and Im lovin' it.

I love this part of my whole set up. Why? coz i spend almost 4 days without sleep just by printing this booklets at home using my poor little Epson printer. Requested for a High resolution Print, it took at least 3 - 4 mins just to print one page.
Imagine I've 38 pages for each book. But, I've wasted approx. 100 pieces of paper and 1 set of ink (color n black) just because of little errors like; Wrong alignment and typo errors.! ARGH.
OH well, for this semester, Ive spent that much!

$28.50 - 200 pieces of 120 gsm Smooth white Naturalis Paper
$50.00 - 100cm x 100cm map; First draft
$40.00 - 100cm x 100cm map; Final draft
$10.75 - 2 pieces of Bienfang White Foam board; A2 size
$6.35 - 3 pieces of Sticker Foam board; A3 size
$96.00 - 2 cartridges of my Epson Printer ink
$2.50 - 1 Pen knife
Benjamin says "This semester our
money is like; Mysteriously gone"
I just like this sentence! HAA.

Sharks!*..Ha-li-lu-yah~ I can get a couple of Tee-shirts, probably a new phone or a new bag... I really hope LASALLE can subsidise our spends.. Well at least its for our projects right?!

oh well i should thanks a few people to make this project a success? i might say. Waijun, Calvin, Weiyi, Yanxiang, Benjamin, Rayz, Terence, Adeline, Silva, Angela, Fahana, Kat, PeiRu,
Its time to celebrate!

curse mark

Here's a video on 'Berlin Block Tetris' from Sergej Hein. Enjoy! This past week I've been hibernating at home, never step out from my block even one step. Party is because of my school work, another is to cure the 'curse' mark on me. Next post will be after this coming week, after my birthday~ Jia you, my fellow classmates for the incoming assessments!

Current mood: Some freedom is needed

zona, is a viral disease characterized by a painful skin rash with blisters in a limited area on one side of the body, often in a stripe.
(remember Sasuke from Naruto with the curse mark behind his neck?
Ya I've something like that!)

Is what I have for being so stressed up with concurrent events that'
s happening within this month which causes me to have Insomnia. Its been a long month, I might say. My project marking date happened to fall on 19 Nov, my birthday. Take a break!

Current mood: In pain.

Time Lapse Video of Kiel Johnson's Cardboard Sculpture of a Twin Lens Reflex Camera made strictly from cardboard, hot glue, and tape. (which actually works, amazingly but not surprisingly), Theo Jemison artfully captured the endeavor on another medium, film. It’s more than just a time-lapse video, it’s beautiful and captures the fun and tediousness that was involved in making this gigantor camera.

After all the hard work our exhibits finally launched and opened to public. Well there's still room for improvements. Like what my lecturers said,

"Design is for everyone."

Feed backs helps designers to fine tune their works to the next level.

Here's my set up and I'm quite satisfied with my whole outcome...

Last but not least, thanks angela, silva, peiru, kat and stanley for the support/encouragement and fun times we had together!
